Post-Jam update & fixes: PARTY HARDER
Hi Everyone!
For those that participated in the Card Deck Jam, thanks so much for the ratings. I really enjoyed this jam, theme, and the inspired games that came out of it.
As for those that didn't, this jam ended a week ago now and results of ratings are now public. Building Block Party! was granted 2nd overall along with 1st in theming. The positive reception exceeded my expectation and I couldn't be happier with the result... but the game had and still has some problems.
This update I'm releasing hopes to make some minor improvements to the overall experience. This is not a huge update, but building this out into a larger game is constantly on my mind. Imagine, deck building mechanics and new features to make this a complete and more engaging experience. I can't stop imagining. However if a larger update does ever come to pass, it will not be supported on web. Godot's web compatibility, along with web browser performance in general, is just not there to make it worth it. I hope you'll play anyway :)
As for this update
- Switch to the Jolt 3D physics engine (!!!)
- Block rarity balancing
- High score saving & endless mode
- Minor texture and visual improvements
- Bug fixes
If you tried this game before, expected a smoother experience with this new update. Available now on web, windows, and linux. Please give it a try!!
